Disillusionment of the female mind

Season 2 of sex and the city, the episode titled “the ex and the city”
Miranda and Carrie try to be friends with the men that they were originally in love with.
Miranda with Steve her bartender ex boyfriend
Carrie with Mr Big, Mr Beeg, Mr Beeeeeeg (You get my drift)
Miranda ends up sleeping with Steve again
Carrie receives bad bad BAD news from Mr Big during a “friendship lunch”.
He is getting engaged to this 25/26 year old girl that he met in Paris
And after, she receives an invite to his engagement party.
Cruel shit.

The question asked was : -
So can we actually be friends with our exes?
Why do women constantly try to “befriend” the men whom they are in love with.
Who the hell are we trying to kid?!

Imagine this scenario ....
You ask him out for lunch or perhaps even say shopping just to try out the whole “friendship” thing.
During that outing sparks fly again.
You sense the whole attraction thing between the two of you
There is mild flirtation bit.
He asks you out again for lunch.
You agree.
Sparks fly again
You know you still feel for him, there’s still that ongoing chemistry going on there.
But then again, you try and chide yourself into thinking “WE ARE JUST FRIENDS"
The lunch ends well and he asks to see you again.
You agree.
The next time you meet, however, something has changed.
You test it out, he moves away
You try it again, and he moves away again
The whole thing ends on a flat note.
And you go home thinking what you did wrong again.
Worth it? I don't think so.

Well I guess in such “friendships” there can be two outcomes, okay maybe even 3.

1. Miranda issue:
That is you two decide to get back together after realizing that the breakup you guys had was stupid
and you guys SERIOUSLY love each other and want to spend your lives with each other.

2. Carrie issue:
You end up losing someone you truly care and love to someone else in this big world
AND you hear that he's having another relationship with another girl.
I can’t seem to make a decision which is more painful,
Losing the person or that he's having another relationship with a girl
I think it might be a combi of both.

3. okay..so the last outcome would be that you have an amazing friendship with your ex.
Right…
Like that’s going to happen anytime soon.
